This Chinese furniture piece, described as a Huanghuali inset with Yingmu garden table, features a table surface composed of Yingmu wood panels framed together, each panel measuring up to 56 centimeters in diameter. The shimmering grain of the Yingmu wood contrasts beautifully with the luxurious, curly oil lines of the Huanghuali wood. Below the waisted section with openwork design, the piece transitions into a wave-shaped apron. It is intricately carved with high-relief designs of auspicious ruyi scrolls and chrysanthemum patterns. The four legs are skillfully carved with multiple intersecting lines and turnings, ending in curled feet resembling floral leaves, which rest upon a base of clay supports. The entire piece is a testament to exquisite material and craftsmanship, with a rigorous structure, tightly fitted mortise and tenon joints, and a balanced decoration that is both lavish and understated. This piece is a remarkable example of Ming-style furniture.
