Category:

A “Qianlong Reign” marked porcelain snuff bottle intricately carved with depictions of 18 Luohans. These Luohans are portrayed riding mythical beasts, showcasing divine instruments, meditating by scripture boxes, or swiftly walking with a Zen staff—each with unique postures. Surrounded by auspicious clouds, mystical dragons subtly emerge, creating a divine scene with blooming flowers and a sea of Buddhist symbols. The high relief is adorned with gilt, and the bottom features a gilt seal script inscription, “Qianlong Nian Zhi” (Made in the Qianlong era). The snuff bottle is crowned with a jade lid and equipped with an ivory snuff spoon. Similar items are housed in the Palace Museum, but this particular piece stands out for its superior craftsmanship.
