A pair of “Zhihetang Zhi” mark blue and white small teacups with rolling paths, with diameters of 7.5 cm and 7.2 cm respectively, are exquisitely small, fitting perfectly in the palm of the hand. The meticulously painted scroll lotus pattern in blue is detailed and precise. One side features reeds and waterfowl in red color, while the other side depicts chrysanthemums and quails, each with a lively and expressive posture, symbolizing peace year after year, harmony between husband and wife, and a sweet, tranquil life. The cups have a thin body, white glaze, neatly trimmed foot, and beautifully written marks. The “Zhihetang” mark is not commonly found in public or private collections, indicating that these cups, with their elegant and refined beauty, were either made for imperial use or were specially commissioned by high-ranking officials, beyond the reach of ordinary people. There are slight imperfections on the inner glaze of both cups, which is the only flaw in their beauty.
