3084-道光二十九年铭鎏金铜印 Inscribed gilt bronze seal

A gilded bronze seal engraved in the 29th year of the Daoguang era, featuring a cylindrical handle with the inscription “Daxin Gu Miao” (Great New Ancient Temple). The front face of the seal bears inscriptions indicating ten stores, including “Dang Nian Zhi Shi Yongyuan Dian… Gaoming Dian” (In charge that year, perpetual source store… Gao Ming store), and the characters “Tong He” (In Harmony). The cylindrical handle is adorned with scrolling lotus patterns and linked bead patterns. The upper end of the handle features engraved lotus and bead patterns. The base of the seal exhibits a pattern suspected to be “Dutian Huaguang Dadi Yuxi” (Seal of the Jade Emperor, Great Radiance of Heaven). The seal measures 18 centimeters in height, the imprint is 9 square centimeters, and it weighs over one kilogram. Dating back to the 29th year of the Daoguang era, 1849, this gilded seal may be even older than the Daoguang era itself, possibly acquired by a consortium of businesses and presented as an offering to an ancient temple.

道光二十九年铭鎏金铜印，柱状把手有“大新古廟”款，铜印上立面有“当年值事永源店…高明店”（共十家店）“同贺”刻字，园柱把手上端刻有卷莲纹和连珠纹，底面印纹疑为“都天华光大帝玉玺”。铜印通高18厘米，印9公分见方，重超过一公斤。道光29年即1849年，此鎏金印或比道光朝古老，有商家合资购入后敬献给古廟亦有可能。
