A Famille Rose Hundred Butterflies Pattern Vase, approximately 40 centimeters in height, with red script mark in regular script, from the Guangxu Imperial Kiln. The porcelain body is fine and white, with a well-shaped and trimmed body, and the mark is elegant and graceful. Around the mouth of the vase is a Ruyi pattern, and between the two string patterns on the neck is a scrolling lotus pattern with gold characters for ‘longevity.’ Near the base are distorted banana leaf patterns. The rest of the white space is covered with butterflies in various postures, creating a scene of auspiciousness and celebration. This vase comes from a former Hong Kong collector in Vancouver and has a well-documented provenance, making it a rare find. The mouth of the vase is slightly rough, and there are three rice grain-sized chips.
